The Dental Back Office Supervisor (DBOS) reports to the Dental Services Manager and will be responsible for ensuring the Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) and Dental Assistants (DA) personnel provides quality dental care to patients.
The DBOS supervises Registered Dental Assistants (RDA) and Dental Assistants (DA).
They assist and work with the Dental Services Manager on staffing, budget, compliance, quality improvement initiatives, and support projects relevant to the clinic's needs.
The DBOS supports, implements, and fosters greater staff understanding of the Strategic Plan, Mission, Vision, and Values of Livingston Community Health.
Essential Functions:
Supports the Dental Services Manager with responsibility for the day-to-day operations of the assigned clinic.
Assists with daily safety audits.
Responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work/patient care environment.
Responsible for the direct supervision of the site staff to ensure efficient patient flow and ensure staff adherent to established policies, procedures, and work instructions.
Coach, mentor, and empower assigned staff to provide exceptional patient care and staff experience.
Assist and facilitate hiring, training, and onboarding new staff.
Actively monitor and manage staff performance while frequently rounding the clinic floor.
Actively monitor and ensure proper data input of patient demographic information, and appointment scheduling in electronic health record (EHR).
Responsible for monitoring assigned staff competencies and required licensure by conducting skills assessments in accordance with current organizational standards.
Responsible for training staff on the proper functions of the practice management and electronic health record system, along with the other company-established practices.
Understand enrollment processes for Sliding Fee, Medi-Cal, Medicare, Covered California, and any other programs offered at Livingston Health Centers.
Responsible for the timely completion and submission of employee performance evaluations.
Complete and ensure timely review, approval, and submission of employee timesheets and time off requests in accordance with policies and procedures.
Assist with ordering all office, dental supplies and forms needed for their respective site(s).
Conduct and manage dental supply stock or equipment ordering.
Assist, facilitate, and organize staff meeting along with Dental Services Manager.
Attend supervisory and other meetings as required.
Assist Dental Services Manager in reviewing the monthly site financials and ensuring the site(s) operate within the scheduled budget.
Maintain data to monitor site compliance with quality standards as set forth by LCH, OSHA, HIPAA and other external agencies.
Assist with troubleshooting patient complaints and grievances as assigned.

Required Education and
Experience:
Current Registered Dental Assistant Certification.
Current Coronal Polishing and Sealant Certificate.
Current California Radiation Safety Certificate.
Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification.
Minimum of One (1) year Electronic Health Record (EHR) experience.
Minimum of three (3) years' experience as an RDA demonstrating progressive responsibility.
Bilingual English/Spanish desired.
Demonstrates effective communication and problem-solving, written, verbal, and analytical skills.
Working knowledge of Dental clinic services, and dental assistant's scope of work.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and Power Point.
Ability to supervise, motivate and train multiple employees.
Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
Demonstrate to build positive relationships with staff and medical providers, to work as a team.
Approachable and show respect for others, communicate skillfully, and handle multiple priorities.
Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize projects and work relatively independently.
Manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Ability to demonstrate skills to implement and manage change.
Must have the ability to travel within the organization to deliver training and to attend training as required.
Valid California driver's license and liability vehicle insurance required.
