Summary:
Samples from production for physical, microbiological, and chemical analysis are brought to the lab or lab workstation for weighing, compositing, and testing.
Samples may include dehydrated onion and garlic products, chili products, parsley and dehydrated vegetables.
This position independently performs all laboratory analyses on certain assays for raw, finished, and R & D samples in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
Routine inspection of product and maintenance of laboratory equipment is required.
Employees maintain a focus on safety and continuous improvement within the laboratory, and as needed participate in research projects.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES &
Responsibilities:
Perform routine and non-routine laboratory procedures to include sample receiving, weighing, grinding, compositing, etc.
for downstream testing.
Perform Sieve Analysis, Moisture, Bulk Index, and other tests as required by customer specifications.
Notify Production Operator and/or Supervisor if any tests are out of specification.
Clean and maintain labware, equipment and laboratory work areas as needed with Alpet D2.
Perform necessary lab maintenance activities that support the day-to-day operations of the Lab, including but not limited to inventory management, supplies tracking and ordering, daily/weekly log sheet recordings, equipment verification, investigation of root cause and corrective action activities, and proficiency testing.
Maintain knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) required to complete job responsibilities.
Perform other related tasks as needed.
SKILLS & ABILITIES:
Accurate data entry and the ability to 10 key Written and oral communication skills General knowledge of computers and LIMS is beneficial for data entry.
Planning skills are useful to maintain supplies for analysis of materials and to ensure analysis is completed on time.
Basic knowledge of GLPs is necessary to ensure a safe working environment.
Candidate must be able to differentiate between colors, open to working various shifts and be a team player.
Must have the ability to complete mathematical computations (+,-,x, ); the ability to read and comprehend written instructions and procedures; the ability to develop proficiency in operation of required laboratory equipment; the ability to prioritize use of time and work with limited supervision.

High School Diploma Previous Lab and Production Experience Preferred Pass a pre-hire math assessment The hourly rate for this position is $22.
